The problems so far..

So far throughout our project, we have managed to film most of our shots completing almost all our rushes. Unfortunately we have had quite a few problems along the way, mainly occuring on the afternoon of our rushes being shot. These came to a big disadvantage and prevented us from getting our rushes done by the deadline. Fortunately we still have a few weeks to finish completely by therfore we plan to finish the rest of our rushes by the end of the next week coming.

We were doing really well at the begininning of last week managing to film our opening few shots at Abi's house. We chose to film all of these shots together due to then not having to keep returning to Abi's. The mise en scene we created took a long time as well and we knew we would have to get it all done in one night. We managed to do this successfully and have since then, uploaded them on to the computer in the editing suite and started to edit our opening shots. They are looking good and with a few effects manage to create an edgy beginning to our thriller.

The problems we had last week throughout the rest of our filming all took place at my house. We only had an afternoon to film it all in, this was already not what we wanted as we planned for our opening sequence to all be set during the day. We got back and tried filming all the outside shots as fast as we could, this didn't help either as i found we rushed a little bit and could have done so much better. We couldn't complete them all on time before the sun sets though and therfore had to carry on with it dark, we reckoned we could make a slight change, we thought if we were to use a dissolve transition when editing, this will show the audience that time has passed and therfore would have made sense being dark later on. After the filming we did, we found it would look a lot better with natural lighting helping us. It is difficult to use the lighting in my house, as some of the rooms we are going to film in are too small and therefore natural lighting would be a great help. We knew we weren't going to film all of the shots we hoped to, but it turns out we're going to have to film more than we thought again. This will be ok though and may come to an advantage having to film it all together as there will then be less chance of making small mistakes such as for example, if one of us was to get a haircut, it won't be different in one shot to another. It will look continuous.

We have thought about it alot and plan to edit our opening shots and credits throughout the week whilst planning our filming for the rest of the shots at the weekend. We hope for a sunny morning and will start filming early on to get good natural light, we will also have so much more time than we did last time.

It has been difficult throughout the filming time so far due to group members and actors not being free. We have had problems where the actors have only had a set amount of time before having to go somewhere else, this has meant we have had to rush some of what we have done so far. We have thought about this and are all keeping the weekend free in order to complete our filming with plenty of time to do it in.
